Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming north northeast after midnight. Wednesday A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. Light and variable wind becoming west southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Wednesday Night A 20 percent chance of showers before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Traffic Update...Big Rig Blocking Lanes on Hwy 4

Bear Valley, CA...Tow vehicles should be arriving soon at a couple of incidents this morning that came in before 6am. On Hwy 4 a big rig is blocking both lanes in the Tamarack Area. On Hwy 120 in the Froveland area a pickup has gone over the side of the roadway with unknown injuries. near Hamilton Station Loop and Buck Meadows Road. Lets be careful out there!!

All of the usual summer activities are going strong so come see us for some trail advice, rentals, gear or just say hi. Summer rentals will be available through October. Join Eric Jung, front man for the Goonge Brothers, and his friends on mandolin and harmonica for an afternoon concert on Saturday, September 29th at Creekside Park (adjacent to Sky High Pizza and Pub) from 4pm to 6pm. Gaines on Comcast’s Announcement to Move 1,000 Jobs Out of California

SACRAMENTO—Assemblywoman Beth Gaines, R-Rocklin, today responded to Comcast’s announcement to move three call-centers amounting to 1,000 jobs to Oregon, Washington, and Colorado. Andrew Johnson, regional vice president of Comcast California said the reason for moving from California was related to the high cost of doing business.

Pink Lights In The Night Will Shine In Calaveras County for Breast Cancer Awarenes

San Andreas, CA... Mark Twain St. Joseph‟s Hospital (MTSJH) is once again promoting Pink in The Night in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Mark Twain St. Joseph‟s Hospital will be promoting the importance of the fact that early detection of breast cancer, followed by prompt treatment, saves lives. The entire community is invited to participate in "Pink in the Night‟ opening ceremony October 1st, in Valley Springs at the Terrace‟s (Common Grounds) at 6:00pm. All survivors and participants will be able to light a candle in tribute to those that are currently battling breast cancer, or in remembrance of those that bravely lost their battle, and ones that have survived the disease. “This is the fifth year that the Mark Twain Health Care District has funded the Pink Lights,” commented Mark Twain District Board Member Dr. Peter Oliver. “On behalf of the board, we are thankful to be able to promote this community wide breast cancer awareness event.”

Avery, CA...Welcome back Avery Hawks! I am excited to report that we have started out this year with virtually no discipline issues! The 7th and 8th grade classes and I talked at the beginning of the year and agreed that if we can keep discipline down to a minimum, we will add an additional fun activity for all students i.e., dance, water day, etc. I hope we can achieve this goal! The 6th, 7th and 8th grade students this year are well behaved, funny, caring, and smart! All three grade levels have iPads. Both 7th and 8th graders are taking iPads home this year. We are working on opening a video studio as well as a music studio. Avery has been invited to apply, for a third year in a row, to be an Apple Distinguished School....
