Experience the Beauty of Winter in the Big Trees...Join us for a warm fire and hot drinks in the Warming Hut on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays from 11:00 to 3:00, Located in the North Grove Parking Lot. Guided Snowshoe Tours are offered on Saturdays at 1:00 P.M. Meet at the Warming Hut at least 15 minutes before the tour begins. Snowshoes may be available to borrow on a first-come first-serve basis - check at the Warming Hut. Bring water, a snack, and gear appropriate for the conditions. Tours last approximately 1.5 hours.....

Arnold, CA..."Can you help me. My dog was missing from her yard when we got home from work today, 12/1/2010. She is a 1 1/2 Year old chocolate brown boarder collie mix about 45 lbs. with one ear that flops over. She is not wearing her collar as she left it behind in the snow! Her name is Alli. She is very friendly, and very loyal and has always stayed close to home near the Meadowmont Motel in Arnold. Please help her to come back to us! We miss her already. If you have information about Alli, please call the Betts Family at 795-4598 Thanks for your help."

Arnold, CA..Light precipitation and more moderate temps heading our way. It looks like the extremely low temps are away for at least the next few days. Highs will be in the 40s at higher elevations and in the low 60s in the foothills. A weaker system will be rolling through starting Thursday night...

Murphys, CA...Carl Truman Self Jr. Passed away yesterday at his home in Murphys. He was 80 years old. Carl was born on July 4, 1930 in Oklahoma and moved to California as a very young boy. He is survived by his high school sweethart and wife of 62 years Joan of Murphys, Jeff (Pat) Self of Arcata, Nick (Sharon) Self of Camp Connell, Denise (Richard) Schaupp of Cambria, Judy (Gary) Lynn of Gardenerville, Chris (Paula) Self of Arnold, Scott (Lisa) Self of Avery. He also leaves behind 8 Grand-Children and 3 Great Grand Children...

Dorrington, CA...The town of Dorrington ushered in the Holiday Season with it's Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony tonight. Old Man Winter managed to let up on the storm just long enough for the many cabin dwellers to find their way out into the cold to attend. They arrived in Hummers, Subaru's, quads, snowmobiles and by foot. Little children sipped on hot cider and hot chocolate while they anxiously awaited the arrival of Santa. With lights glaring and the siren blasting, Santa made his grand entrance. Santa was greeted with a cheer and found his way to his post where he ordered the lighting of the tree...
