Scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms in the morning, then scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 57 to 68. Prevailing southwest winds up to 10 mph. Tonight Mostly cloudy. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows 43 to 51. Prevailing southwest winds up to 10 mph in the evening becoming light.

San Andreas, CA...NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION LEAD AGENCY: Calaveras County Planning Department, 891 Mountain Ranch Rd., San Andreas, CA 95249 2016-016 ZA for Matthew Greenberg The applicant is requesting a zoning amendment (ZA) to rezone APN 030-010-058 from C2-PD (General Commercial – Planned Development) to M4 (Business Park). The property is approximately 1.92 acres in size and is located at 5146 Commercial Way in Hathaway Pines. The property is currently improved with a 5,600 sq. ft. building and associated paved parking. The proposed mitigation will require the parcel to retain the Planned Development overlay, rezoning the parcel to M4-PD.

Missing Skier Thomas Dennis Mullarkey Recovered Today

Bear Valley, CA...On March 14, 2018, at approximately 11:00pm Jane-Drummond Mullarkey reported to the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office that her husband, Thomas Mullarkey, had not returned to their cabin after a day of skiing at the Bear valley Resort. The Alpine County Sheriff’s Office initiated a full-scale search that continued for five days during which heavy snow, avalanche danger and poor visibility conditions persisted. Based on information gathered by investigators, the search was focused within the resort’s boundary. On March 19, 2018, the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office reduced the search to a limited but continuous search both within the resort’s perimeter and surrounding backcountry as the snow pack melted.

Shooting Hours Restricted at Candy Rock Quarry. Shooting ok During Daylight Hours on Weekdays, Weekends

Hathaway Pines, CA...Stanislaus National Forest supervisor, Jason Kuiken, signed Forest Order STF 2018-01 limiting the hours shooting enthusiasts may use Candy Rock Quarry on Calaveras Ranger District. The order, which is in effect until April 20, 2019, allows discharging a firearm within the Candy Rock Quarry Shooting Restriction Area only between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The Candy Rock Quarry Shooting Restriction Area includes the Candy Rock Quarry and all National Forest System lands that are 150 yards from the outer boundary of the quarry.
