White Pines, CA...Our sincerest gratitude goes out to the amazing folks in our Highway 4 and Calaveras County communities for their generous donations on behalf of the victims of the Butte Fire. Please be advised that the Independence Hall Community Center in White Pines will NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING ANY DONATIONS for distribution at this time. However, if you, or someone you know, is a victim of the fire, and need clothing, furniture, household items, etc., Independence Hall would love to help! We have a limited amount of the following gently used items, available at the Hall to fire victims, at no cost: Clothing, Household goods, Twin beds, Bedding, Furniture, Kitchen items

Arnold, CA...The last outdoor patio party for 2015, with live music and good food, is happening tonight at Sequoia Woods. Open to the public, the venue is on our newly-remodeled patio and deck. The offerings include a German-style buffet dinner followed by live music by Jill Warren’s trio “Jill and the Giants”. This is always a fun event for those who like to dance or just be with their friends in a lovely setting. Come watch the daylight fade and the party lights go on; probably the last chance for this until late spring 2016! Reservations recommended: 795-1000 ext. 1.

Arnold, CA...Stop by Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store Cat Adoption Center in Arnold, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market.. Open Thurs through Sat 10 am–5 pm. Come in and meet Scout and other fabulous feline friends. Our Angels Camp Adoption Center is closed this week, so Arnold is the place to be!

Angels Camp, CA...The Bret Harte Bullfrogs hosted the Summerville Bears in a Mother Lode League Football match up Friday night. After falling into a two touchdown hole early in the game the Frogs clawed their way back into the game and held off the Bears in a last minute try for a two point conversion. It was a great win for Bret Harte.
