Arnold, CA...The Greater Arnold Business Association along with many members of the community hosted another great Arnold Independence Day Parade. 4th of July weekend in Arnold is something not to be missed. The whole, little, mountain town is decorated in red, white & blue and the parade and other events renew one's faith in our communities and our 240 year old experiment as the world's greatest democratically elected, representative republic. There were many highlights of the parade but one special one is this year's parade marked the last the Cal-Fire's Nancy Longmore will be a participant in an official manner. She is retiring from Cal-Fire and will be missed.
The Lions Club's Holiday Breakfasts Were A Hit Again Over The 4th

Arnold, CA...The Arnold Lions Club's holiday breakfasts were a hit again over the 4th of July Holiday. The Ebbetts Pass Gas Parking lot was filled with those fueling up for the day. If you missed it don't be sad they will be back on Labor Day Weekend!

Arnold, CA...(Update as of 9:45am Tuesday morning. Thank You!!! As of right now our first show has had 15,368 Views!!) Tonight is the Premier of "The One Percent" it gets its name from the USDA Study that ranked all 3,111 counties in the lower 48 based on the "natural amenities index". The index hopes to be "a measure of the physical characteristics of a county area that enhance the location as a place to live." Calaveras came in as the 14th ranked county in the whole nation. Our neighbors to the south, north and east all ranked high but came in just a bit lower than Calaveras. So if you average our the counties in our coverage area they all score in the top one percent of places to live in the US.

Arnold, CA...The Hazel Fischer Elementary School Parents Club brought back The Firecracker Mile! It ran just before the start of the Arnold Parade. The once and now future Arnold Independence Day Parade tradition. The Firecracker Mile is a mile-long fun run that begins at the Arnold Byway and ends at Cedar Center.

Bear Valley, CA...Now in its 48th year, the Bear Valley Music Festival begins on Friday, July 22 and runs through Sunday, August 7 with a total 15 concerts including a special free family matinee on Saturday, July 30. The festival showcases a wide selection of artists and genres including rock, classical, bluegrass and jazz. A mere 3.5-hour drive from San Francisco, Bear Valley is known primarily as a ski resort.
