Arnold, CA...Stop by the Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store Adoption Center in Arnold, located in Meadowmont next to Big Trees Market (Phone 209-795-GIVE). We will be open THURS. - SAT., 10-5pm. We will have approx. 8 kitties available to meet you this week. This is the final week of our "Opt to Adopt an Adult" Special. We have reduced the adoption donation on all of our Adult cats (one year of age & older) to only $20 this month. There are so many advantages to adopting an adult. Please consider giving one or more of our precious adult cats a loving home.....

Arnold, CA...Last Friday a 48 year old Arnold resident sustained moderate injuries and was air lifted to Memorial Hospital in Modesto when her Cadillac Escalade struck a large boulder. The CHP release is enclosed...
Copperopolis, CA...On Monday night Candidates Season kicked into high gear as the Calaveras County Taxpayers Association held their first Candidates Night. We will be posting video clips of portions of the night. The first one below if from the assembled candidates for the State Assembly Race. Arnold, CA...The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum on Dunbar Road in White Pines (down Blagen Road from Arnold) is now open and enthusiastically receiving visitors. We have a number of new exhibits, including a wonderful collection of prints that we just received from Jerry and Ramona Sachs of Arnold. The prints were framed and matted through the generosity. of the Arnold Lions. Some of the photos, especially the very large ones, are of the ....
Arnold, CA....Arnold resident, Jenny Nielsen, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the afternoon of April 15th, 2012 while in Doctor's Hospital in Modesto, CA. She was born on April 1, 1958 in Berkely, CA and grew up in San Francisco. She was the daughter of Shelby R. King and Margaret S. King, both native San Franciscans. She attended Katherine Delmar Burke Girls School as did her Mother and Grandmother....

Central Sierra/ Highway 4 Fishing Report for April 18, 2012

Welcome to our first of 2012 fishing report. Fishing season will open April 28th for the rivers and streams. With such a weak winter this should be a dynamite fishing season. Our area will be planted the week of 4/22 by the DFG. Listed plants are The North Fork of the Stanislaus, Beaver Creek, White Pines Lake, and Angels Creek located in Angels Camp. Camping for the opener will be limited to mainly dispersed camping. You must still obtain a fire permit for your campsite. No word yet if Big Trees State Park will be open for camping for the opening weekend.....
Arnold, CA...A community blood drive, hosted by the Arnold Lions Club, will be held in Arnold at Independence Hall on Blagen Road from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Tues., April 24. Donors should be in good general health, at least 17 years of age and weigh a minimum of 110 lbs.
