Arnold, CA...Stop by Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store Adoption Center in Arnold, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market (Phone 209-795-GIVE). We'll be open THURS.–SAT., 10-5. We will have approx. nine kittens and one adult available to meet you this week. If you are closer to Angels Camp, make sure you check out our Angels Camp Thrift Store Adoption Center, located in Angels Towne Center (240 S. Main St./Hwy 49), also open THURS.–SAT., 10-5. There will be cats and kittens available at both locations!

Calaveras County, CA...I, like most people, have become accustomed to having certain things in my daily life. Things that I just don't think about because I use them so much. Things like my morning coffee, or grabbing a bottle of water before I leave the house...stuff like that. But those things produce a lot of waste. Of course I recycle where I can, but not everything is recyclable. From used coffee filters to paper towels, a lot of it ends up in the garbage. Paper towels alone produce up to 3,000 tons of waste everyday! At the 2013 International Home & Housewares Show, exhibitors showcased various products to help combat this ever growing problem.
