Arnold, CA...On May 22, 2017, six ladies got together in Arnold to help one of their friends with her yard clearing. The deadline for clearing pine needles from our lots is Memorial Day weekend. One of the daughter’s said, Mom this is a news worthy event, because of your ages. Yes, we are all 69 to 80 years young!

San Andreas, CA....The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors are back in action tomorrow and one of the items on the agenda is the repairs needed to get the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge and White Pines Park & Lake fully operational again. Adopt a Resolution to Direct the County Administrative Officer to identify funds for reimbursement to Public Works Roads and Bridges for the purchase and installation of a temporary bridge at Main Street (Blagen Road) crossing Big Trees Creek in White Pines. 2. Direct the Public Works Director to purchase a pre-engineered, manufactured bridge and execute contracts necessary to install, construct temporary approach roadways and place appropriate facilities for the installation of a temporary bridge. 3. Direct staff to process the purchase and installation of the temporary bridge to maximize the potential for Federal and State reimbursement. 4. Include temporary bridge in County’s Capital Asset inventory.

Arnold, CA...Last evening the White Pines Park Committee, Members of the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge, Public Works Director Jeff Crovitz, Calaveras Supervisor Michael Oliveira, CCWD's Bertha Underhill & others met at EPFD Station One to discuss the progress on repairing storm damage to Blagen Road that has kept the Moose Lodge closed and blocked access to much of the parking and areas around White Pines Lake since the February storms.

Mary Ellen Murphy Passed Away on May 12 at 92 |

Camp Connell, CA...Mary Ellen Murphy died May 12, 2017 at the age of 92. Mrs Murphy was born in Owasso, MI. She was the youngest of 10 children. Mary moved from Michigan to Whittier, CA in 1950. She worked in uptown Whittier at Marshburn Insurance Co. as an insurance writer. She married Gilbert L. Murphy in 1965. After retirement Gil and Mary moved to Big Trees Village in Camp Connell, CA. They were both very active in St. Patrick’s Church activities for many years. Mary was predeceased by her husband Gilbert Lyle Murphy who passed away in 2012.
