Avery Hawk Headlines and Welcome Back Avery Hawks! ~By Christine Cearley

Posted by: John_Hamilton on 09/11/2012 05:48 PM
Avery, CA...Welcome back Avery Hawks! I am excited to report that we have started out this year with virtually no discipline issues! The 7th and 8th grade classes and I talked at the beginning of the year and agreed that if we can keep discipline down to a minimum, we will add an additional fun activity for all students i.e., dance, water day, etc. I hope we can achieve this goal! The 6th, 7th and 8th grade students this year are well behaved, funny, caring, and smart! All three grade levels have iPads. Both 7th and 8th graders are taking iPads home this year. We are working on opening a video studio as well as a music studio. Avery has been invited to apply, for a third year in a row, to be an Apple Distinguished School....

“Fix my Ride flow” Consumer Petition Launched Asking Progressive To Fix Damaged Vehicle

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/10/2012 09:49 AM
Arnold, CA- A petition is being launched today calling on Progressive Insurance Company’s iconic (and some would say irritating) fictional spokes-character, Flo, to step up and fix a vehicle damaged by a Progressive Insurance Company policyholder. The accident occurred on February 13, 2012 in the parking lot of the Bear Valley Ski Area. An under-aged driver, who was insured as per state law requirements, lost control of her vehicle and slammed into eight parked cars. The under-aged drive remained on the scene, notified authorities and provided her insurance information to the owners of the vehicles that were damaged during the accident....

Lots of Critter Activity This Year ~ By John Hamilton

Posted by: John_Hamilton on 09/10/2012 01:00 PM
Avery, CA...In the 7 years ThePineTree.net has been serving up information we can say that this year has had the most Mountain Lion and other wild life activity at lower elevations than we have seen in the past. At a local winery last week there were 6 sheep slaughtered by a mountain lion that they had to kill. The sheep were behind tall deer fencing and this lion had almost no fear of humans and was stashing the killed sheep for later only a few feet from where they normally pass. The local Sheriff's Deputies came face to face with a Lion in a San Andreas Cemetery and another mountain was spotted on one of the holes at Greenhorn Creek. We would like to thank our viewers for sending in the photos below and enclosed...

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/07/2012 03:45 PM

Bear Valley Update....Nothing Yet

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/06/2012 02:33 PM
Bear Valley, CA...The tea leaves are still being read and divinations made but there is still not a firm answer from Bear Valley on the upcoming season. Most people in positions to know still think they will be under operation when it matters. This we do know is that the partners are talking and an agreeable solution is being worked on. Without going down the rumor path too far it should be realistic to expect a decision close to September 15th....
