Calaveras County Prepares for Free Music in the Parks. Starting June 12th at Copperopolis Town Square |

San Andreas, CA...For over two decades, Calaveras Arts Council has hosted free summer concerts. Music in the Parks 2013 will be another great music series. The first day of summer starts a week earlier in Calaveras County. On Wednesday, June 12, the Calaveras Arts Council begins its 22nd year of providing free music in the county parks from Copperopolis to Arnold, and Valley Springs to Rail Road Flat. This fun fill musical road show is called Music in the Parks. Residents and visitors pack up their favorite picnic treats, pull together their lawn chairs and blankets, and set out for ten weeks of great music, family friendly environments, and kick back to savor the experience....

Murphys, CA...It was a day of great discovery on the campus of Michelson Elementary School in Murphys. Principal Brett Loring alerted the 2nd graders that some "local folks" had found something unusual up in the sandbox and requested the students for some digging assistance. They headed up to the sandpit and indeed found amazing, perhaps prehistoric findings. The young archaeologists then worked independently with their own set of little tools to reveal their fossils. They children have been studying about bones and fossils with their teacher, Suzanne Mattson...

After moving several times in the early years of her marriage, she ultimately settled in Castro Valley, CA to raise her family. PG&E Inspecting Lines By Helicopter Starting Today |

Amador & Calaveras, CA...Starting 6/3 PG&E will be doing air patrols in all of Amador and Calaveras county. We are starting and will finish with Amador first then moving to Calaveras county by the end of the week. This should take us two weeks to complete. Be prepared to see a low flying helicopter over all of the power lines in the area...

Big Trees Village, CA...I found this female little Terrier Mix on Sunday June 2nd 2013 in my driveway in Big Tree's Village at our weekend home. She is Blind. looking for owners! I took her home to our residence in Valley Springs. Our Work number in 209)772-3013 209)329-8335 cell. She has a San Jose Rabies Tag but called Vet and to old, not in there system anymore. Thank You. Arnold, CA...Fishing on the Highway 4 corridor has been excellent with all of the recent trout plants. White Pines Lake: White Pines Lake located near Arnold has been excellent. Bait casters should try using Berkley Gulp Eggs, Garlic Power Eggs, Garlic Power Bait, Power Bait, Salmon Peach Power Bait, Grape Nymph Power Bait, Berkley Mice Tails, Berkley Gulp Worms, salmon eggs, and Nightcrawlers with a sliding sinker rig or with a cast-a-bubble rig with 30"-36" leader. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Panther Martin spinners, Rooster Tails, Mepps, Blue Fox spinners, Berkley Splinter Spoons, and Thomas Bouyants. Fly fishermen should try woolly buggers, sparrow nymphs, adams, female adams, humpy's, blue wing olive, pale morning dun, caddis flies, ants, and bead head nymphs...

Arnold, CA - Sierra Nevada Adventure Co. will host their Annual Paddlefest from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m on Saturday, June 15, 2013, just outside of Arnold in Calaveras County. This is a fee event and advance reservations are required. SNAC is a local paddlesports and outdoor equipment retailer with locations in Arnold, Sonora and Murphys. “Our Festival is our biggest event of the year,” explains Shawn Seale, owner of SNAC, “and it’s a great chance for us to introduce people to paddlesports in a very informative and safe setting.”
