Arnold, CA...Stop by Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store Adoption Center in Arnold, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market (Phone 209-795-GIVE), open Thurs.–Sat., 10 am–5 pm. We will also have kitties available at our Angels Camp Adoption Center, located in Angels Town Center (240 S. Main St./Hwy 49), open Thurs.-Sat., 11 am–5 pm. We are having our "HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS" adoption event on Saturday, Nov. 15th at three locations--both CHS Cat Adoption Centers and Calaveras County Animal Services in San Andreas. Event hours are 10 am-4 pm in Arnold, 11 am-4 pm in Angels Camp, and 9 am-4 pm (closed 1-2pm) at Animal Services in San Andreas. Kitties will be available at all three locations and dogs will be available at Animal Services. Free homemade holiday refreshments will be served. Come and enjoy the treats and meet some lovable animals.

Prevailing south winds 5 to 15 mph with gusts to around 30 mph...except southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts to around 40 mph over ridges. Tonight Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain showers in the evening...then a slight chance of rain and snow showers after midnight. Colder. Lows 27 to 41 higher elevations... 37 to 47 lower elevations. Copperopolis, CA...Calaveras Sheriff Volunteer Sgt. Bob Fienberg and six other Sheriff Volunteers (Lt. Ed Anderson, Lyle Bradt, Sgt. Ralph Carlascio, Louis Chiu, Ed Evans and Pat Toepel) provided traffic control during the Veteran’s Day Parade in Copperopolis on Veteran’s Day. These Sheriff Volunteers, many of whom are veterans themselves, take pride in honoring the veterans for their service and sacrifice to this beautiful nation. The parade was well attended and all enjoyed the beautiful weather in such a memorable public event...
