A slight chance of rain and snow in the morning...then rain and snow in the afternoon. Highs 39 to 54 higher elevations...50 to 60 lower elevations. Little or no snow accumulation. Snow level 7000 feet. Prevailing south winds up to 15 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon. Over ridges...prevailing south winds 10 to 20 mph increasing to 15 to 30 mph in the afternoon....

Angels Camp, CA...Peter Frank Val passed away unexpectedly, Thursday February 13th, 2014. He was born October 5th, 1926 in Angels Camp, California. Except for his military service, he lived his entire life in Angels Camp. Peter was a man who loved to laugh and was most happy with his friends and family having a good time. Peter was a man of integrity and will be missed by the many people that knew him....

Moderate & Minor Injuries & Two Arrests in Hwy 49 Accident

Angels Camp, CA...CHP has released some additional details on this mornings accident that affected traffic on Hwy 49 south of Angels Camp. The driver of a 2011 Ford Ranger stated that he fell aleep went off the roadway and sheared off the telephone pole. The driver sustained minor injuries and the passenger sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Mark Twain Medical Center. Both of the parties in the truck were arrested for issues unrelated to the accident. Additional details are enclosed...

Taxpayers Promoting Constitution

Copperopolis, CA...The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association (CCTA) is launching an outreach effort to promote constitutional principles through distribution of a booklet, The US Constitution and Fascinating Facts About It, to public officials and other leaders in Calaveras County. The group's President, Al Segalla, said "The first batch of booklets will be presented to county supervisors at the board meeting on Tuesday, February 25. More copies will be presented to other officials, educators and leaders in the near future. A Constitution contest with prizes for students is being considered. CCTA previously sponsored a student contest for posters and essays and the proud winners were presented awards from Congressman, Tom McClintock."
