Featuring vintages from Calaveras wineries and foods from Calaveras restaurateurs. Calaveras artists will be attending with a special art show along with a premium raffle featuring Calaveras Experiences and Calaveras products. Angels Camp, CA....CAMP SEW FUN 2014! The Camps are June 17, 18 & 19 (Tuesday through Thursday), July 15, 16 & 17 (Tuesday through Thursday), August 5, 6 & 7 (Tuesday through Thursday). Class times are daily: 2:00 to 4:30 *It is important that the kids be on time to each class, there is a lot to learn in 3 days! This class is for ages 8 to 18, for girls and boys. It is a great class to introduce your young person to sewing. After the last class they will take their machine home with them. Our goal is for your student to go home with a machine they understand and can use. This is a a basic sewing class, although we do make projects to teach the machine techniques. Class projects are: a tote bag for class supplies, a small zipper bag, a small bag with a buttonhole & they will sew on a button with the machine & they will make a pair of shorts or a skirt....

Frogtown, USA...The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is excited to release the logo for the 2014 event. The art was designed by the Fair's graphic artist Mike Bowsher. Mike and his wife Karan own Black Diamond Graphics who produce the Jubilee's official merchandise line. The official Fair t-shirt will be available for purchase on March 15. New CalPERS Costs To Be Borne By Local Governments |

Sacramento, CA...Earlier this week, the Board of Directors of the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) adopted new actuarial assumptions. These assumptions stem from recent staff reviews of the overall system and needs associated with providing benefits to its members. The adoption of these new assumptions will result in employer (local government members and the State of California) contribution rates increasing. The CalPERS Board of Directors also decided to implement a payment scheme to meet these obligations. Local governments will utilize the “20-5” option whereby the increased costs to local governments will be paid over 20 years with a five year ramp-up and a five year ramp-down. Two alternative options for local governments were considered – a “20-7” scheme or a “30-5” scheme – but neither of these options was adopted. In adopting the 20-5 scheme, payments by local government members will commence in the 2016-17 Fiscal Year. It should be noted that local governments do have the option to pay these new liabilities in advance to minimize finance costs....

Cadia Extra Virgin Olive Oil $7.79 750 ml Bananas & Coconut Milk Dessert Ingredients 2 organic bananas, large and very firm 1 cup Silk Coconut Milk 2 tablespoons organic sugar 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon Shredded coconut or slivered almonds for garnish Recipe Peel the bananas and cut into bite sized pieces. In a medium saucepan, bring the coconut milk to a boil. And the sugar and cinnamon, stirring to dissolve. Add the bananas. Bring back to a boil, then turn down the heat and simmer for 2 - 4 minutes, until the bananas are tender but not mushy.
