Additional snow accumulations up 1 to 3 inches. Snow level 4500 feet decreasing to 3500 feet after midnight. Prevailing southwest winds up to 15 mph with gusts to around 35 mph...except southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts to around 45 mph over ridges. Monday Mostly cloudy. Angels Camp, CA...California boasts some of America’s top public schools and competition for homes in these districts can be fierce. Take Piedmont, considered by some to be the best district in the San Francisco Bay Area. The average home price in Piedmont, according to Zillow, is $1,737,900. In Southern California, every single one of the schools in La Cañada Flintridge earned a perfect 10 at the popular school rating website GreatSchools. To buy a home there, be prepared to spend an average of $1.5 million. Both of these communities are well out of reach of the average worker in California, who earns about $1,100 a week, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
But there are hidden gems throughout the state — places where children can still get an excellent public education and home prices aren’t reserved for the very wealthy. NerdWallet crunched the numbers and found places for families who want strong schools near big cities or those who are looking to live in California’s more rural areas. |

I am thrilled to announce to you, that on June 20, 2015, I am bringing back a touch of Hollywood to our county! “Our Father,” starring Michael Gross (Family Ties, Tremors, Suits) and Michael Worth (God’s Ears, Devil Dogs) is based on the real life story of director and writer, Linda Palmer-Cardone’s family. This 22 minute award winning drama, focuses on John’s, (played by Gross), late stage Alzheimer’s and the secret he reveals in a moment of clarity to his son Jared,( played by Worth). In a moment of clarity, a lifetime of lies is exposed, helping to explain the abusive, racist, and angry man that his family came to know in their early years together. I am proud to say that I am one of the co-producers of now the multi award winning, “Our Father,” and for one day only, we are bringing it, and our lead actors and director to Calaveras County!

Angels Camp, CA...Grace Hills Covenant Church will host two Easter celebrations this Sunday in Angels Camp. The first gathering is a "Sunrise Service" at 630am, held at Cherokee Creek Ranch at 769 Dogtown Road. At 10am, a worship service will be held at Bret Harte HS in the Multipurpose Room. Both services are intended for all ages, and light refreshments will be available at each service as well.
