The Calaveras County Junior Livestock Boosters Dinner & Dance raises money each year for one of the most successful junior livestock programs in the state. On some years the Calaveras County Junior Livestock auction brings in even more revenue that the State Fair auction. Not bad for a county of 45,000...

Angels Camp, CA...Thomas Bruntz of Altaville died on Feb. 12, 2013 at his home after a long illness. He was 83.He was born in Windsor, CO to Jake & Agness Bruntz. Tom served in the Navy for 4 years as a mine sweeper during the Korean war. After being discharged from the Navy he met his bride Geraldine "Jerry" Brunz in Ault, CO. Shortly after getting married they moved to Calaveras County where Tom worked in the logging industry and as an Equipment Operator in construction for 50 years. He was always the life of the party, from line dancing to telling wonderful stories....

Angels Camp, CA...Robson Ord Black Jr., 83 passed away at his home in Angels Camp on February 9, 2013. He was born May 20, 1929 to Robson Ord Black and Margaret Agnes Leigh in Long Beach, California. He attended schools in Long Beach, Redondo Beach and Los Angeles, he graduated from Redondo Union High School in June 1948. He was a great athlete, he enjoyed playing football, baseball and weightlifting. At El Camino Junior College he studied criminology, followed by three years in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Policeman. He also attended and played football for Cal Poly, Pamona, He later received his degree from San Joaquin Delta College...
