Gospel Choir from Oakland featured in Arts Council Concert in Angels Camp!

Angels Camp, CA....Gospel music is all about making joyful sounds and the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir will raise the roof of the Bret Harte Theatre in Angels Camp when it performs there Saturday, March 5. This energetic 16-member ensemble choir with band has the power to uplift people from all walks of life. Regardless of your faith, the music is healing. Jackson Brown, Jr....A small group of local residents is working together to encourage and promote random acts of kindness throughout Calaveras County. In 1995, the Angels Camp City Council passed a proclamation designating Angels Camp as a Kindness Zone. In January 2010, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors approved the resolution for a county-wide Kindness Zone. The ripples of kindness continue to spread!..

Two separate investigations led to the arrests of five different subjects, between Thursday 02/03/11 and Friday 02/04/11.

Angels Camp, CA...On Thursday, 02/03/11, at approximately 7:30 PM, officers from the Angels Camp Police Department arrested Kayla Ann Beller, a 22 year old Angels Camp resident, and Kayla Marie Moreland, a 19 year old San Andreas resident. Both subjects were noticed by officers as they were walking a one year old and a two year old in a stroller. Officers noticed that the young children did not have appropriate clothing for the cold weather, and further investigation revealed that both Beller and Moreland were under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant. Moreland was found to be in possession of approximately .5 gram of methamphetamine...

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Visitors Bureau looks to be remaining in it's current location. At this afternoon's City of Angels Camp Personnel and Finance committee meeting, the competing offer presented to the City from the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce was withdrawn. The CVB Board has signed and resubmitted the lease from the previous offer from the the City. It is expected to be accepted at the next full City Council Meeting. Enclosed is a letter that was submitted by the CVB a few.....

Calaveras County, CA...A Quote from the Taylor family: "Emilya Jade Taylor was born on February 5, 2006 to Andrea Reis and Jeff Taylor. During her delivery, there were complications with her umbilical cord that caused Emilya to be with out oxygen for 55 minutes. She was transferred to Doctors Memorial in Modesto, then to UCSF Children's Medical Center. There, she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Through out her short life, she was unable to walk, talk or eat normal foods like many of us do on a daily basis. She was however, able to communicate with her beautiful eyes. She could tell you what she was thinking at all times with one look.....
