Angels Camp, CA...The tables will be set for the first of this year’s three events on Thursday, April 3, 2014 (Summer/Fall dates TBD), when guests will feast on a five-course gourmet meal paired with five of the fifteen Vintner member wines from Calaveras County Wine Country. To compliment the dinner, all five wineries will be represented by the owner or winemaker to discuss and answer questions about their wines. "Winemaker dinners often center around learning the story behind a brand of wine," says Siri Gilpin who, along with her husband Rich, own Coppermine and Lavender Ridge Wineries in Murphys, CA. Angels Camp, CA....The Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program has designated Arnold resident Sharon Ash as its March Mentor of the Month. Sharon has been matched with sixteen-year-old Diana Westphal for the past seven years. “Sharon and Diana enjoy one of our program’s longest continuous friendships,” said Colleen Dolan, Coordinator of Mentoring Programs for the Calaveras County Office of Education. “This means that they both have contributed a lot to the policies, practices, and general strength of the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program.”
