The Chamber's 2015 Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament |

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 2015 Scholarship Golf Tournament will be on Friday, June 19th. This year's tournament will be held at the stunning Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort in Angels Camp. The format will be a four-man scramble with a 1pm Shotgun start. Player registration is $125 per individual or $450 per team of four. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Dinner tickets can also be purchased for those not playing in the tournament...

Angels Camp, CA...Aspiring young tennis players from throughout Calaveras and it neighboring counties are invited to take part in the 16th annual Youth Tennis Clinic to be held at Bret Harte High School, Angels Camp on Saturday, May 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. There is no charge for the clinic that will be led by Angella Woods, a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) member. It is open to elementary through high school students regardless of current ability...

Angels Camp, CA...Ownership of the historic art deco gem that is the Utica Hotel in Historic Downtown Angels has changed and escrow has closed. The new owners plan to keep the property as a hotel, saloon, restaurant, banquet facility and retail complex. Many of the dreams that have been brougt fourth over many years may see the light of day under the ownership of Pero & Mary Ann Margaretic. Longterm plans may even include a third floor of rooms. This is great news for Angels Camp and our entire area...

Angels Camp, CA...On April 11th Mark Twain Hall at Frogtown was filled with hundreds of locals and visitors, Saddle Queens & Contestants, Miss Calaveras Queens & Contestants, Friends Of The Fair and many more. The Whiskerino Dinner & Dance is one of the events that signals the start of Fair & Frog Jump Season. It starts the buildup to Calaveas County's week in the national and at times international spotlight as Frog Jockies saddle up to see who will reign supreme for another year. Secret ponds will be visited to select the longest jumping green steeds for this year. This year is the 150th Anniversary of the publication of "The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calaveras County" this story put Mark Twain and Calaveras County on the map....

San Andreas, CA...Under the coordination of Sgt. Vic Farina of the Calaveras County Sheriff Volunteer Unit, four other Sheriff Volunteers, Louis Chiu, Bill Cook, Cpt. Betty Miner and Joe Tarantino provided traffic control for the County Air Fair 2015 this past Saturday at the County Airport. The Air Fair was well attended. She's a very special sweetheart who needs a loving indoor home.
