Everett Wayne Morgan, 82, Loses Life In Fatal Accident In Hwy 4 Accident (Updated) |

Angels Camp, CA...Everett Wayne Morgan, 82 from Murphys was driving his Chevrolet pickup eastbound on the wet roadway at an unknown speed with his passenger. A 37 year old man from Modesto was driving his 2006 International westbound at 40 to 45 miles per hour. Party #1 entered a posted 30 mph advisory curve in the roadway. Due to the unsafe speed of Vehicle #1 for the wet roadway the rear of Vehicle #1 began to slide in a clockwise motion. Party #1 applied Vehicle #1's brakes and the vehicle continued to rotate. Party #2 observed Vehicle #1 sliding towards him in his lane and applied the brakes of Vehicle #2...

Snow accumulation up to 2 inches higher elevations. Snow level above 8000 feet. Prevailing southeast winds up to 10 mph...except southeast 10 to 25 mph over ridges. Tonight At lower elevations...rain showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening...then rain showers after midnight. Angels Camp, CA...On 11/17/2014 at approximately 7:40 AM, the Angels Camp Police Department responded to 155 South Main Street, Calaveras Lumber, for a reported burglary. A hole had been cut in the fence near the rear of the store and tools were stolen. It appeared the suspect was interrupted in the process of attempting to steal items because numerous items were stacked near the hole in the fence....

Angels Camp, The Angels Camp Business Association presented their third annual Christmas of Angels Open House from 4 to 8 p.m. and the 24th annual Parade of Lights in downtown Angels Camp on Saturday. There were lots of locals and visitors out and about watching a great parade, celebrating the holidays and enjoying shopping at local merchants. The parade has some great entries and the "Frozen" float was Rose Parade worthy....
