Big Trail Plans Highlight City Council Meeting ~By John Hamilton |

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp City Council Meeting was filled with business and community friendly items Tuesday night. One that has enormous potential to burnish Angels Camp's reputation of being the "Launching Pad" for Mountain Biking and Hiking activities is a proposed trail plan along Angels Creek. The proposed trail now in the preliminary planning phases would run for 4 1/2 miles along the creek and it would have an even larger impact if it could tied into the trail system at New Melones. The City Council chose RRM Design Group from Oakdale to prepare the plans. There was almost unanimous consent from Council that this project will..

| The Calaveras County Fairgrounds will be hosting a "Dress Swap" March 14 from 1p.m.- 5 p.m. We are encouraging women and high school girls to bring their lonely formal wear that is hanging in their closet to the Fairgrounds. There are four options, you can buy, sell, donate or swap. It is our hope to have great turnout. It is an opportunity to get a dress for prom or even the Miss Calaveras competition or those of us that are just looking for a cocktail dress or bridal ..... |

| Angels Camp, CA....On Saturday, 01-23-10, at approximately 9:35 P.M., an Angels Camp Police Officer was dispatched to a report of a drunk driver. The original reporting party was traveling West on SR 4 toward Angels Camp, when she saw a vehicle being driven erratically. She called 911 on her cell phone and provided the vehicle license plate and related information to C.H.P. dispatchers. That information was eventually relayed to Angels Camp Police, but not before the driver of the suspect vehicle stopped in the downtown area ..... |

The program seeks versatile young women who are intelligent, articulate, charming, talented, sincere and healthy in mind and body with warm, outgoing personalities. Miss Calaveras serves as a roll model for young women in our community....

| Angels CA....Join a select group of young men and women who are ambassadors of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee, May 13-16. As part of the leadership team, Junior Fair Board members work in all areas of the Jubilee including the internationally known Frog Jump. In order to participate in the Junior Fair Board, young people must be a junior or senior and attend a Calaveras County High School. Underclassmen who have served in the past may apply. Update....Detectives from the San Diego Police department working with Angels Camp Police have located Marita Anttila, age 44 of Angels Camp. Anttila was last seen in San Diego on 1-22-10 at the Bahia Resort hotel where she was attending a conference. Acting on information provided by Anttila’s bank a Detective with SDPD began checking hotels in the downtown area of San Diego. Anttila was located at approximately 12:20 in good health. Her family has been notified and is enroute to the area.
The Angels Camp Police Department is investigating a missing person, Marita Anttila, age 44 of Angels Camp. Anttila was last seen in San Diego on 1-22-10 at the Bahia Resort hotel where she was attending a conference. Anttila is described as a white female, 5-07, 136 lbs with green eyes and red hair. She has a scar above her left ear. Anttila is prone to violent seizures which can result in memory loss. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at (209) 736-2567.
