David Garrett, 75 from Camp Connell Loses Life in Hwy 4 Accident

Vallecito, CA...Mr. Garrett was traveling eastbound on Hwy 4 east of Parrott's Ferry Road just before 2pm. It is under investigation why he allowed his 2008 Prius to drift to the left and cross into the westbound lane. This allowed his vehicle to collide head on with a 2001 Dodge pickup of a Walnut Creek couple...

The District Essay winners, their heroes, and their families will attend the event, which is a annual tradition as the City council welcomes them and the community. Angels Camp, CA...In honor of Presidents Day three local firefighters took the opportunity to look the Patriotic part. They found their Red, White & Blue suspenders on sale and they all decided they needed a pair. The even wore them to Family 4 Fitness Monday as they worked out to make sure they were strong enough to take care of any damsels in distress that might need some emergency assistance.

Angels Camp, CA...Just north of Angels Camp on Hwy 49 one business has been providing feed and ranch supplies since a peanut farmer from Georgia was in the White House. They threw a thank you party for their customers to celebrate on Saturday....

Bear Valley, CA...Winter returns tomorrow with cold temps and snow down to the 2,000ft level. Hopefully the systems will bring a bit more moisture than is forecast. A winter storm warning has been issued for Tuesday and Wednesday and is enclosed below the 7-Day forecast. Washington's Birthday Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Light and variable wind becoming south southwest 11 to 16 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Tonight Snow, mainly after 4am. Low around 21. South wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Tuesday Snow showers. High near 28. South southwest wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible. Tuesday Night Snow showers, mainly before 10pm. Low around 12. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible....

Traffic Update...Motorcycle vs Dodge on Hwy 49

Angels Camp, CA...Crews are working a motorcycle vs Dodge Durango on Hwy 49 and Red Hill Road South of Angels Camp. Good news is the rider is up. An ambulance is on scene however and the motorcycle is blocking the roadway. Please use caution and expect delays in the area until the incident clears....

Fatal Accident on Hwy 4 and Parrotts Ferry Update..Hwy 4 to Reopen by 3:45pm

Vallecito, CA...Emergency Crews are working a fatal accident on Hwy 4 and Parrotts Ferry Road. The accident was reported just before 2pm and there is at least one fatality. Lanes are blocked at this time. Animal control as also called to the scene. Please use caution and expect delays in the area... Update as of 3:35pm...There was a Dodge Pickup heading westbound on Hwy 4 and a Toyota Prius was heading eastbound and drifted into the westbound lane. There were minor injuries to the occupants of the pickup and a single fatality in the Prius. Hwy 4 traffic was being diverted onto Batten Road and around Irish Vineyards. We will pass along the official accident information as soon as it comes in from CHP..

Angels Camp, CA...We had the chance to stop by the dress rehearsal last night to get a glimpz of the latest CSTARS' production. Starting today the Performing Arts Center will be the place to be. The performances turned in by these young actresses, singers, actors and dancers will bring smiles to your faces and maybe even a tear or two to your eyes. Youth Theatre is alive and very, very well here...
