Last weekend I was in Santa Clara promoting Calaveras County at the Bay Area Travel & Adventure Show where we obtained 372 entries for a fantastic Calaveras getaway for two put together by Destination Angels Camp. Offering a free giveaway is a great way to obtain valuable contact information that we can use to market directly to people interested in our destination. The lucky entrant, the Reverend Dan Yeazel, won an exciting OARS whitewater rafting trip, zips on Moaning Cavern’s zip lines, a round of golf at Greenhorn Creek, dinner at Sidewinders restaurant and an overnight stay at the Travelodge in Angels Camp. The leads from this drawing will be shared among the CVB, participating businesses in the giveaway, and Destination Angels Camp....
