San Andreas, CA....The Parkinsons Disease and neurological disorder support group "San Andreas Movers & Shakers...it's not OUR fault!" will meet on Tuesday, October 7th, from 9:45 am - 12:00 noon at the Calaveras Central Library, 891 Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas. The support group for progressive, degenerative neurological diseases meets the first Tuesday of each month at the Library -- same time, same place. The public is always welcome to attend and the library offers good handicap parking and access.....

Calaveras County, CA...."Mr. Frog's Wild Ride, a bicycle tour of the Calaveras foothills featuring 50K and 100K routes, is back! On Sunday October 19th the ride, a fundraiser for Feeney Park in Murphys, will bring 200 riders to the backroads of the county to enjoy the fall scenery......

San Andreas, CA....Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital held their 10th Annual Health Fair on Saturday morning. It included a 5k run or walk, whichever you preferred. There were many community groups there making presentations. You could also receive a free health screening, flu shots and pneumonia vaccinations. The Lions Club was also on hand for free Visual screenings. There were Bone density screenings, Hearing screenings, Senior Health services and information available on Nutrition and Fitness. Calaveras County, CA....The 4th Annual Children's Benefit Golf Tournament will take place at Forest Meadows Golf Course on September 27, 2008 at 1pm. HRC Santa's Express is a nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to serve disadvantaged families in Calaveras County at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The monies raised from this golf tournament goes to purchase the toys and clothes for these families. For more information contact Don Lloyd at 209-728-8645.

Calaveras County, CA....The Endowment for Youth Program, sponsored by Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital, is now accepting applications for the 2008 Endowment for Youth Program. Each year the hospital’s Thrift Stores provide funding opportunities for not-for-profit Calaveras County projects that provide services to children ages 0-18. In 2007, $34,426 was awarded to 62 community organizations in support of their individual youth projects. To obtain an application, please contact Diana Rodrigues at 736-0864. ....

Angels Camp, CA....Angels Camp, CA....Take me out to the ball game! Tamara Dragmanovich and Karen Moore, two very dear people in our county have been diagnosed with cancer. To help support them and their families, the community is holding a Cancer Benefit Co-Ed Softball Tournament. The tournament will be held on September 13th at the Copello Park in Angels Camp. As of Thursday of last week there were 12 teams signed up for the tournament.....
