Ebbetts Pass Fire District Receives Office of Traffic Safety Grant for Emergency Response Equipment

Arnold, CA...The Ebbetts Pass Fire District (host agency) was awarded a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) of $100,000 for the purchase of Extrication Equipment to assist crash victims and help with emergency response. The grant funded Extrication Equipment can aid in extricating victims from a severely damaged vehicle, reducing the time it takes to transport victims to receive critical care. In 2017, the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, Murphys Fire Protection District, Altaville-Melones Fire District and Copperopolis Fire Protection District responded to 219 crashes to aid victims injured in which 46 of those required extrication.

Arnold, CA...Ebbetts Pass Fire District Needs Your Help Deciding Their Future. December 11th at 6pm, Independence Hall in White Pines. EPFD is funded, in part, by two special taxes that enable us to provide top notch FIRE and EMS services. The first special tax was voted on and passed in 1998. This provided additional staffing as a paramedic within the District 24/7/365. The second was voter approved in 2004. Which funded extra staffing and one full-time, paramedic staffed ambulances and a second full-time staffed fire station.

Board of Supervisors Adopt Design Review for Mokelumne Hill

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors adopted an ordinance to add Chapter 17.52 of the Calaveras County Code to provide for a design review process for Mokelumne Hill. The design review process provides for planning director approval of specified development consistent with the Mokelumne Hill Design Guidelines. A negative declaration was adopted by the Board of Supervisors.

Angels Camp Christmas Parade Grand Marshals Announced Joan and George Loomis Will Lead Parade

Angels Camp, CA...Long-time Angels Camp residents Joan and George Loomis, who have fostered 1,200 children in Calaveras County and volunteered countless community service hours, will be the Grand Marshals in the 28th annual Angels Camp Parade of Lights beginning at 5 p.m. November 24. Dwayne Garcia, president of the Angels Camp Business Association, which hosts the parade and the annual Downtown Angels Holiday Open House the Saturday after Thanksgiving, said he is delighted that Joan and George will be the Grand Marshals this year.
