Angels Camp, CA...One of the central items of last night's Angels Camp City Council was the "Fourth Filter" and was it needed to keep the City in Compliance with the water regulatory agencies. The Council approved to go forward with the project on a 4-1 vote with a caveat that they hope they won't be forced to install it. The City was recently cited for exceeding capacity for a few days in 2007 and also 2008. The discussion centered around what was the best way to solve the deficiencies. Mayor Jack Lynch was adamant that the problem has already been solved through the $700k main water line repair completed a few months ago....

$19,000 in grants awarded by Calaveras Community Foundation

Angels Camp, CA...Ten local groups have been awarded a total of $19,000 in the first round of 2009 funding by the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF). The funds will be used for programs focusing on music, youth, adult tutoring, seniors, educational needs and food pantries....
San Andreas, CA...The focal point of today's meeting is short range strategic planning for the county. The supervisors are reviewing the plan now and suggesting minor changes. Updates to come and we will have the entire meeting video up for you to watch later.

Angels Camp, CA...Please be aware that there are individuals trying to pass counterfeit $100 bills in this area. The police are investigating, but we must be diligent if we are taking cash for goods and/or services. The pens do not necessarily work. (Additonal note from ThePineTree.net we spoke with the Calaveras Sheriff's Dept. and also the Angels Camp Police Department this morning and there have been reports in the last few months of bills being passed in the Valley Springs area as well as the Murphys Area. However, no official Press Release has been released.

Angels Camp, CA- Murphys resident Mark Seim won a brand new 2010 Subaru (valued at $25,000) courtesy of Sonora Subaru during the annual Warren Miller Ski movie in Angels Camp on Friday night. Everyone that attended the event received a scratcher game card entering them in the contest. Seim uncovered six identical keys on his card and was awarded the new car.
