San Andreas, CA...On Tuesday we stopped by the "Hobnob at the CCOG" to sample some of their great clam chowder, cookies & treats. The Hobnob was their Holiday open house and Christmas party. The Calaveras Council of Governments has done a great job this year pushing community projects forward. San Andreas, CA...We had the opportunity to speak with the Calaveras County County of Governments Executive Director Tim McSorely again this morning and the Angels Camp Bypass made the "Coal in Stocking" list of projects that may be affected by the Pooled Money Investment Board decision on Wednesday to suspend funding for some $4 Billion in loans for Bond backed infrastructure projects. A total of 4 local projects made the list including the Angels Camp Bypass and two CAL-FIRE projects and also an unspecified project at Bret Harte. The good news..

Angels Camp, CA...The owner of the Lode Hotel in Angels Camp was given 30 days to shore up the front of the 1880's era hotel in Downtown Angels Camp. The first item of concern to the City is the balcony & deck area that is on the front side of the building. According to the City this area proposes an immediate problem as it is a safety concern for people walking in front of the building....

Bear Valley, CA...This weekend Bear Valley Mountain is opening the slopes for the 2008-09 Season! This weekend, the resort will offer lift tickets for just $39 ($20 off regular) for visitors 13 and older, $16 for children 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and under. Conditions permitting, the resort will open three lifts including Kuma, Supercub and Panda, providing access to four intermediate and beginner trails. The resort will also offer intermediate and beginner terrain park features. Early season conditions currently exist....

San Andreas, CA...At yesterday's Calaveras County Board of Supervisor's meeting, San Joaquin County Building industry representatives and Burnell Wealth Management's Principal, Cory Burnell, were on hand on hand to speak on behalf of the Trinitas project. They exhorted the county to let the project move forward for fiscal reasons. The planning commission date to review the revised draft environmental impact report has now been pushed back until February. Other and potentially larger developments.....
