Of course not only can we not open, but we can't take donations. Tomorrow I should find out the extent of the damage, and approx. how long we will be closed. Because of the flooding CHS Thrift is TEMPORARILY closed. Our computers and phones are also not in service and can't take donations until damages are taken care of.

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/03/2017 08:55 AM
Philadelphia, PA..America’s first self help author and motivational best seller was Benjamin Franklin. Not only that but he was America’s first publishing self made millionaire. He made enough that before he left to be our first Ambassador to France he loaned the Continental Congress money to help fund the revolution. He rose from humble beginnings where he himself was an indentured servant. The entire concept of freedom and individual rights was entirely different then. Not only did slavery exist in some of the colonies and throughout much of the world, many people regardless of race lived at least part of their lives as indentured servants to learn a trade or were never truly free. Press freedoms did not exist and his brother was jailed for writings in The New England Courant that criticized the government in Massachusetts.
