San Andreas, CA...(Update as of 9:56am...We just finished speaking with Calaveras County Public Works Director Tom Garcia and he confirmed that an agreement in principal has been reached. It will defer upfront fees until 50 units are completed which helps the developer lower their upfront costs while an escalating costs clause protects Calaveras County as the funds they will receive during project buildout will be protected from inflationary pressures. Mr. Garcia was very pleased by the outcome and happy that it maintained a positive working relationship between the counties.) We have been told from multiple sources that the terms of an agreement between Calaveras County and the developers of the new Bear Valley Village have been reached. We have contacted Public Works Director, Tom Garcia, he has confirmed that yes a deal has been agreed upon. However, from what we have learned both sides agreed to the terms yesterday. Initial reports are, the Developer will pay a limited amount of funds up front and the next large portion when construction of the first 50 units is underway. This is a good early Christmas present to the entire business community in Calaveras and Alpine Counties. Positive negotiations had been going on quietly for the last several months...

Musical Seats...Berryhill Endorses Denham to Fill 25th Assembly District Seat.....Updated with Video and Photos |
Posted by: thepinetree on 12/16/2009 03:23 PM
|
Angels Camp, CA...State Representative Tom Berryhill was on hand at Camps Restaurant at noon today talking to the Calaveras County Republican Party at their December meeting. He was on hand to say thank-you for the support he has received from the Calaveras County area and talk about his run to fill retiring Senator Cogdill's seat. If he is successful in his run his new district will no longer cover Calaveras County. The surprise retirement of Senator Dave Cogdill has set off a fury of activity within the Republican party to position their minority chess pieces in the most effective manner. Outgoing State Senator Jeff Denham had been campaigning for the Lieutenant Governor position. In changing races it gives the Republican Party a very solid candidate with good statewide recognition and also paves the way for Governor Schwarzenegger's pick of Able Maldonado an easier run at election time...
