Gas Prices Jump a Ahead of Independence Day Holiday. California Gas Taxes Rise To 47.3 Cents Per Gallon State & 18.4 Per Gallon Federal

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/01/2019 08:33 PM
Walnut Creek, CA...Following weeks of steady pump price declines, gas prices are starting to increase across the country. On the week, a gallon of regular unleaded is, on average, a nickel more expensive with nearly 25 states seeing an increase of a nickel or more since last Monday. “For the more than 41 million motorists hitting the road this week to celebrate the Independence Day holiday, they will find gas prices cheaper than Memorial Day weekend, but more expensive than they’ve been paying the last few weeks,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson. “It’s typical to see increases at the pump ahead of the holiday, but we may see prices continue to jump throughout the month due to refinery interruptions on the East Coast, increasing demand and fluctuations in crude oil price.”

Washington, DC...The United States condemns the killing and torture of Capitan de Corbeta Rafael Acosta Arévalo, a Venezuelan Naval Officer, who died while in the custody of Maduro’s thugs and their Cuban advisers. We express deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. This is not the first time the Maduro regime has used violence against its political prisoners. We recall clearly the horrifying events of October 8, 2018, when Councilman Fernando Alban was murdered while in regime custody.

We have many things to discuss, including trade, and including some disarmament and some — a little protectionism, perhaps, in a very positive way. And we’re going to discuss a lot of different things. We’ve had great meetings. We have had a very, very good relationship. And we look forward to spending some pretty good time together. A lot of very positive things going to come out of the relationship. So, Vladimir, thank you very much. Thank you.
