Valley Springs, CA...Lloyd Eileen (Jones, Jester) Toland, Age 80 From Rancho Cordova, CA, Passed away on 9/20/13 at her daughters home in Valley Springs, CA from Lung Cancer. Parents Lono Dee (Buck) Jones and Florence Jones (Hannah). Graduate of Berkeley Business College Self employed for many years. Moved to Sacramento area in the 80’s and worked for Adleberg Associates until retirement. Life member of Soroptimist International. Enjoyed craft projects, and was very handy with her hammer and other tools. Loved spending time with family and friends... |

Sonora, CA...Stephen Lee Olmsted 41 of Sonora, CA passed away on Sunday August 25th, after a mountain biking accident in Mammoth CA on Saturday, August 24th. Stephen was a dedicated loving hands on husband and father who loved his three girls with an intensity you cannot measure. He always sacrificed himself for his family and lived life to the fullest. Stephen was a brilliant mind with an honest heart. He was well known for his detailed, creative work as a general contractor. There was no adventure that he couldn’t conquer. Murphys, CA...Katie Alice Mauldin, age 81, died in her Murphys home on Sunday, September 8, 2013. She was born to the late Lois and Gorden Locklear, December 20, 1931, on their family farm in Granite, Oklahoma. She married Olaf Mauldin in 1945, and they lived in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona before settling in Hayward, California in 1954. Katie first job was as a Soda Jerk at the local pharmacy and later finished her career in the meat industry in Oakland. Katie and Olaf retired in Murphys, California in 1980 where they enjoyed many years together...

An avid gardener, antique hunter, and animal lover, she cultivated many friendships over the decade which she and her husband have lived in Valley Springs. Roy was the Owner of Calaveras Springs Bottled Water Company in Douglas Flat, CA. He served Calaveras and Santa Clara Counties for the past 30 years delivering mountain spring water to homes and businesses. Prior to Moving to Douglas flat and starting the water business he worked for Fairchild refrigeration and air conditioning and also for Intel Corporation. Arnold, CA...Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Marilyn Kay Bolei passed on Thursday, August 22nd after her long battle with pancreatic cancer. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 54 years France Bolei, hers son's Thomas and Ronald, her grandsons Andrew, Grant, Benjamin, and Devon, and her brothers Jeff, Dale, and Bruce Tozier. Marilyn was born in August of 1936 in San Francisco, California to the parents of Ronald and Ruth Tozier. Marilyn's parents pushed her across the Golden Gate Bridge in a stroller the day it opened when she was just a few months old. Marilyn also performed as a dancer at the 1939 World's Fair in San Francisco when she was only three years old. Marilyn graduated from San Francisco's Washington High School in 1954, and she married France Alfred Bolei on October 31st, 1959 in Santa Cruz California...

Mountain Ranch, CA...(In a sad update.,,Barbara Grizzel, 86, and her son Harry Hanssen, 66, of Arroyo Grande passed away in the fire. It is most likely that the son perished trying to save his mother). Just after 1am this morning fire engines responded to a reported structure fire in the 8,000 Block of Mountain Meadows Drive. CalFire E3559 initially arrived on scene and reported a partially involved structure and possibly 2 occupants inside the structure. E3559 initiated a rescue attempt and entered the building but was unable to locate any occupants and was forced out of the building by heavy fire conditions. As additional fire apparatus arrived on scene, the fire spreading to the nearby vegetation was extinguished and the fire in the structure was also extinguished. The residence incurred extensive damage...
