In Loving Memory of James Edward Kane, 87

Angels Camp, CA...James Edward Kane passed away at Sonora Avalon Care Center December 3, 2014 at the age of 87. He was born June 29, 1927 in Hughson California to Albert and Myrtle Kane. After graduating from high school in 1945, he joined the Merchant Marines for a two year stint. Shortly after going to work for PG&E, he was drafted into the Army and sent to Germany as part of the occupational forces for two years. After his military service, he went back to work for PG&E building sub stations and married the love of his life, Betty Conyers to whom he was married 61 years. He ultimately retired from PG&E as a hydro generation maintenance electrician after 40 years. ....

Angels Camp, CA...On November 20, 2014 at approximately 1615 hours, an 18 year old Copperopolis man was traveling eastbound on SR-4 east of Stallion Way at an unknown speed. Darby was traveling westbound on SR-4 east of Stallion Way at a stated speed of 40-45 MPH. For an unknown reason, the young Copperopolis man lost control of his vehicle. His Dodge Stratus rotated sideways into the oncoming lane of traffic, directly into the path of Darby's vehicle. The front of their Buick collided with the right side of the Dodge. Both vehicles came to rest blocking the westbound lane of SR-4....

Murphys, CA...Richard “Dick” Penrod of Murphys died Saturday, Nov. 8,, 2014. He was 73. Mr. Penrod was born in Oxnard. He attended Fillmore schools and graduated from Fillmore High School with the class of 1959. Whenever he could, he would attend the annual alumni banquets and class reunions to stay connected with his childhood friends and classmates. He held the high school pole vault record for many years and made his school and county proud when the Black Angus he raised as a member of the Future Farmers of America club earned National Grand Champion....

Tuolumne County, CA... On 10/27/14 the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s recovered human remains from New Melones Resevoir. An autopsy was conducted, Detectives and members of the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department have been working to identify the deceased. Burson, CA...Debra Liane Wilkerson Bonetto died November 9,2014 at her parents residence in Burson, after a two year battle with cancer. Debra was born January 5, 1974 in Lodi, California to Ted and Shirley Wlkerson. She lived in Galt until 1993 when the family moved to Burson. Debra graduated from Galt High School and later attended Heald College. After graduation she worked as a waitress and later worked for Bank of Stockton for ten years. Debra loved scrap booking, shopping, planning special birttrday parties for her son, Carson, and spending time with her family....

Valley Springs, CA....Norman Eugene Baccus 1929 - 2014 passed away at his home on October 28th, 2014. He was born in Corning, Arkansas to Charlie & Iva Pearline Means Baccus. He served in the US Army in 1946 and was Stationed in Santa Barbara. He worked for over 40 years in the baking industry and then worked with his son-in-law in construction until his late 70's.
