Frogtown, USA..The finale of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is the hard hitting, spectator favorite, Destruction Derby. The Derby is held annually on Sunday evening of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee. Roaring engines, the sound of metal against metal and a hillside full of fans, create an exciting atmosphere for everyone involved. The event is May 22 beginning at 5:30 p.m. and lasting until the last car is left in the Arena.....

Frogtown, USA....Applications to enter and compete in the Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant are now available at the Fairgrounds administration office, Bret Harte High School and Calaveras High School. The program seeks versatile young women who are intelligent, articulate, charming, talented, sincere and healthy in mind and body with warm, outgoing personalities. Miss Calaveras serves as a roll model for young women in our community........

2011 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee Theme Announced

Angels CA....The Calaveras County Fair’s Board of Directors met in mid-August and approved the 2011 Fair Theme, “Pirates of the Carrots and Beans”. The theme will be celebrating such programs and “Calaveras Grown”, home and sustainable gardens and products, using the pirate concept to create fun and excitement. Anchoring this exciting theme will be a community garden. Children will have the opportunity to assist in planting a vegetable garden before and during the Calaveras County Fair, May 19-22. The harvest will be donated to the Calaveras County Food bank....
Frogtown will be Rockin' Memorial Day Weekend for The "Furthur Festival"at Mountain Aire!

Frogtown, USA....Seven bright talented young women competed for the title of Miss Calaveras and a $1,000 scholarship last evening at Frogtown USA. The Miss Calaveras Scholarship pageant is an eight week program that culminates in the stage competition at the Calaveras County Fair. The Program offers more than $2,700 in scholarship monies for contestants. In April the seven contestants began a rigorous rehearsal schedule. They were schooled in interview skills, etiquette, public speaking and talent. The competition comprises of four areas of focus, personal interview, health and fitness, evening gown and talent.
