Valley Springs Vehicle Pursuit Ends in the Arrests of Six Adults |

(Valley Springs, CA) On 04/11/12 at approx. 10:15 A.M. Calaveras Sheriff's Deputies attempted a vehicle enforcement stop on a pick-up truck for expired registration near California and Daphne Streets in Valley Springs. The truck failed to yield and increased its speed, headed towards Watertown Road, then on towards the town of Paloma. While being pursued through Paloma, one of the truck's passengers, Jeremy Davis (34) of Tracy, jumped from the moving vehicle. The pursuit then continued back towards Valley Springs where the truck finally came to a stop due to mechanical failure... |

San Andreas Woman Arrested for Commercial Burglary |

(San Andreas, CA) On 04/09/12 Calaveras Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the San Andreas Mini Mart for a report of a theft. Upon arrival the deputies learned that the store owner witnessed Krista Lyn Jardine (25) of San Andreas, pick up a bottle of wine from the store, put it in her purse, and walk out the store. The store owner confronted Ms. Jardine outside and brought her back inside the store without incident. When questioned, Ms. Jardine admitted to stealing the wine. She said that she did not have money to pay for the wine... |

Valley Springs Woman Arrested for Residential Burglary |

Valley Springs, CA...On 04/07/12 Calaveras Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a burglary in progress in the 8300 block of McAtee Street in Valley Springs. At the time of the burglary, the reporting party/victim was at home and was giving live updates to Calaveras Dispatch while he awaited the arrival of the deputy. The victim reported that a suspicious vehicle was parked in his driveway, and he could see a female adult on his porch, and heard her going in and out of his basement. Every time she went to the porch she carried an item belonging to the victim and placed the item on the porch.

Murphys Woman Arrested for Commercial Burglary and Possession of Controlled Substance |

San Andreas, CA...On 04/07/12 Calaveras Sheriff’s deputies responded to Treats General Store in San Andreas for a report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the deputies learned that Teri Lynn Parker (42) of Murphys, entered the store, put a can of hairspray into her purse, and walked out the store. A store employee intercepted and detained her. Ms. Parker told the deputies that she accidentally put the hairspray into her purse when she discovered that she had no money and returned to her vehicle to get money... |

Arrest Made in Sheriff's Vehicles Fire Case |

Sonora CA...On 12-1-11 at approximately 0300 hours, a fire was reported in the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle parking area. Several Sheriff’s patrol vehicles were damaged and destroyed. Several others were covered in flammable liquid. Parked among the patrol vehicles was a pickup truck that had been completely consumed by the fire. It was determined that the pickup was stolen out of the downtown Sonora area....

Sonora, CA....On Tuesday around noon, off duty Deputy Robert Speers was fueling his personal car at Flyers gas station when he noticed a disturbance occurring between two drivers. Both were facing each other trying to get through the parking lot with inadequate room to pass. The driver of a lifted 4x4 truck later identified as 24 year old David Garcia of Sonora, began revving his engine at a woman in a small SUV in order to frighten her. Columbia, CA....Sunday April 1st at about 2:20 am, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding 2-3 gunshots heard at or around the Columbia Motel. When Deputies arrived they searched the area but did not find anyone injured. While searching, Deputy Paul Speers found what appeared to be a .45 caliber cartridge casing in a drainage ditch in front of room #44.
