Attorney General Bonta Announces Charges Against 54 California Highway Patrol Officers in East Los Angeles

Oakland, CA...California Attorney General Rob Bonta today announced charges against 54 former and current California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers in connection with an alleged, multiyear overtime fraud scheme. The charges are the result of an internal criminal investigation by CHP into whether officers in the East Los Angeles station exaggerated the number of overtime hours they worked. The officers face a total of 302 counts, including charges of grand theft and the presentation of a fraudulent claim. The total amount of the fraudulent overtime hours is $226,556.
Ione, CA...After careful consideration, I have decided to formally announce my retirement from the Ione Police Department. My last scheduled day at the Department will be March 31, 2022. Sienna Nulph, 21 from Sonora Lost Her Life in Early Morning Valentine's Day Crash

Jamestown, CA...On February 14, 2022, at approximately 6:45am, 47-year-old Michelle Robles of Sonora was driving a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on State Route 49, north of Chicken Ranch Road at approximately 50-55 miles per hour. At that same time, 21-year-old Sienna Nulph of Sonora was driving a 2003 Ford Mustang and had entered State Route 49 from Chicken Ranch Road, directly in front of Ms. Robles’ vehicle. As a result, the front of the Jetta crashed into the driver side of the Mustang.
