TCSO Makes Arrest In Routine Traffic Stop

Sonora, CA...On Monday morning around 11 AM, Dep. Hammell was driving northbound on Hillsdale Drive, in Sonora. A silver Pontiac Grand AM, came to a stop at the intersection past the stop sign limit line and had a paper rear dealer plate and the vehicle did not display a temporary registration tag on the rear window. The Deputy initiated a traffic stop and the driver identified himself verbally, as 38 year old Jason Stevens of Sonora.

Sonora Couple Wanted In Relation To Stabbing

Sonora, CA...The Sheriff's Office is looking for two wanted subjects. Dustin Stevens, 28 from Sonora is wanted in connection with a family disturbance in which a he is suspected of physically assaulting and stabbing a family member and then damaging the phone so law enforcement could not be called.

Sonora, CA...Driving in heavy rain can cause the potential of poor visibility and hydroplaning. If you’re going too fast and end up hydroplaning keep in the direction you want to go and do not brake hard. With all of the flooding brought on by the heavy rain, do not get in too deep. If water is covering the markings on the road, it’s too deep to drive on. You can lose control with as little as three inches of water on the road.

Felony Arrest For Brandishing A Knife, Criminal Threats, & Resisting Arrest

Sonora, CA...On Wednesday February 8th, 2017, at around 12:45 p.m., Officers of the Sonora Police Department were dispatched the Enrichment Center on Hospital Road for a report of a man brandishing a knife. Officer Memmer arrived on scene and was directed to 30-year-old Levi Elden Coon, who was still inside of the building. When Officer Memmer attempted to detain Coon, he made an aggressive movement toward him. Officer Memmer and Sergeant Rogers were able to grab hold of Coon, but he continued resisting and had to be forced to the ground in order to be subdued and arrested. Thankfully, neither the officers nor Mr. Coon sustained injuries during the altercation.
