Columbia & Stockton Men Arrested on Drug Charges

Columbia, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."Yesterday morning, deputies spotted a Ford coupe with expired registration while patrolling the Quail Mine area of Columbia. The driver, 51-year-old Irving Gallego of Columbia is on probation and was found to be in possession of nearly 27 grams of methamphetamine. His passenger, 53-year-old Paul Saldana of Stockton had a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.

Sonora Police Arrest Man After Months on the Run

Sonora, CA...From the Sonora Police Dept..."You can run...and run...and run...but you can't hide! After a 3 month game of hide and seek, Troy Loveday (35 of Sonora) was found hiding at his camp located in a field behind Lowe's. Loveday had run from Officers' three times in the past several months and disappeared each time into thick brush and trees. Loveday had four outstanding felony warrants for his arrest, and three more misdemeanor charges were requested against him for running from the police.

Marijuana Grow and BHO Lab on Almond Dr. in Valley Springs Eradicated & Arrest Made

Valley Springs, CA...On 3-22-2019 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence on Almond Dr, Jenny Lind. This location was identified as having a marijuana cultivation operation. Investigators found an area inside of the residence that had been converted for the purposes of marijuana cultivation. A large green house was also located. Inside of a garage investigators found marijuana plants and a Butane Honey Oil (BHO) conversion lab. Deputies seized 463 marijuana plants, just over 174 pounds of processed marijuana, 14.6 ounces of concentrated marijuana, (2) rifle’s, (1) handgun and (1) shotgun. 43 year old Jason Martinez of Jenny Lind was arrested on scene and booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

New York, NY....U.S. Attorney Announces The Arrest Of Michael Avenatti For Engaging In A Scheme To Extort A Public Company. Avenatti Is Alleged To Have Used Threats of Economic and Reputational Harm To Demand More Than $20 Million In Payments. Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and William F. Sweeney Jr., Assistant Director-in-Charge of the New York Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), announced the arrest today of MICHAEL AVENATTI on federal extortion and interstate threat charges. As alleged, AVENATTI, an attorney, attempted to extract more than $20 million in payments from a publicly traded company by threatening to use his ability to garner publicity to inflict substantial financial and reputational harm on the company if his demands were not met. AVENATTI was simultaneously arrested on separate charges brought by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. AVENATTI will be presented today in Manhattan federal court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Katharine H. Parker.

Suspect Asking for "Suicide By Cop" Safely Taken Into Custody

Twain Harte, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."Yesterday afternoon, the High Risk Supervision Team conducted a probation compliance check at the home of 36-year-old Jeffrey Goldstein on Robin Rd. in Twain Harte. Goldstein is on felony probation and had four confirmed warrants for his arrest. Goldstein refused to come out of his residence and his girlfriend told deputies he had a knife. He told the officers he would rather die than go to prison and asked them to shoot him. Probation officers talked with him in an attempt to calm him. Goldstein eventually came out of the home and was safely taken into custody. A records check conducted on a blue Ford Expedition that was parked in his driveway, revealed it was stolen. Officers found the key in Goldstein’s pocket.

Verbal Dispute at Laundromat Leads to Arrest

Sonora, CA...From the Sonora Police Dept..."On 3/20/19 around 7pm Sonora Police received a report at the Downtown Plaza Laundromat of 3 males in a verbal argument. When Officers arrived they contacted Kristopher Walters, 37 of Sonora, it was determined that Walters is on searchable county probation. A probation search was conducted, which resulted in locating a fixed blade knife in Walters backpack. Kristopher Walters was subsequently arrested and booked into Tuolumne County Jail for carrying a concealed knife.

Two Valley Springs Burglary Suspects Arrested

Valley Springs, CA...On 3-20-19 at about 0430 hrs., Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary on Double Springs Rd in Valley Springs at the Cal-Waste transfer station. During the investigation a description of the suspects and their vehicle were obtained and broadcasted to Law Enforcement units in the area.
