Sonora, CA...Monday evening the Sonora Police Department arrested 26-year-old Charles P. Bryant of Modesto and 24-year-old Zalena R. Herrera of Modesto for multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a felony, and organized retail theft with intent to sell.

Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team Assists Amador County

San Andreas, CA...On March 9th, 2021, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team was activated to assist Amador County with approximately 2,500 blasting caps. The reporting party stated they were in the process of demolishing an old building when they located the blasting caps. Upon arrival, the CCSO EOD team discovered the blasting caps were extremely old and had deteriorated to a possibly unstable state. Upon investigation, they determined the blasting caps were likely manufactured in approximately 1918. The EOD team established a safe perimeter and systematically moved the blasting caps into a bomb explosive trailer. The trailer is specially designed to transport explosives and absorb any unintended detonation. The blasting caps were transported to a rural location for disposal.
Fair Oaks Motorcyclist Loses Life in Collision with CHP Vehicle

Jackson, CA...On March 28, 2021, at approximately 1738 hours, a motorcyclist was riding a 2002 American at a high rate of speed, eastbound on State Route 104 (SR-104) west of Zone Michigan Bar Rd. An on-duty CHP Officer was traveling westbound on SR-104 and observed the motorcyclist at a high rate of speed traveling towards him. The CHP Officer activated the patrol vehicle's forward red lights and began to slow and pull to the north shoulder in preparation to conduct an enforcement stop.
Sonora Student Arrested for Making Threats Against School & Students

Sonora, CA...A student at Sonora High School has been arrested for making threats against the school and other students. The Police Department was notified by the administration at Sonora High School of a student potentially making statements to bring a gun to school. During the course of the investigation, Officers learned that disturbing and threatening messages had been sent to other students via various social media platforms.

Sonora, CA...On March 24, 2021, at approximately 8:20 pm, 33-year-old Stephanie Foster of Mi Wuk Village was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 pick-up truck westbound on Mono Way along with her 1-year-old toddler. She allowed her vehicle to travel off the north roadway edge, over a sidewalk and crashed into a bus stop kiosk located in front of the Indian Rock Center.
Columbia Woman Arrested as Suspect in Fatal Hit & Run Crash that Killed Local Teen

Sonora, CA...The Sonora Area CHP has made an arrest in connection with the fatal hit and run crash that occurred on February 28, 2021, which resulted in the death of a 17-year-old female. On March 25, 2021, at approximately 6:35pm, 67-year-old Lisa Dianne Hunt of Columbia was placed under arrest in connection with the fatal crash. She was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked on charges of Vehicular Manslaughter, Felony Hit and Run, Destroying or Concealing evidence and providing false information to an officer.
