George William Gemberling 1931 - 2019. Services November 23rd

Copperopolis, CA...George William Gemberling, son of Irvin & Ethel Gemberling, was born July 2, 1931 and was welcomed into eternal rest by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 10, 2019. He was born in Shamokin Dam, PA and graduated from Selinsgrove High School in June 1949. In July 1949 George joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany. For the next 2-1/3 years he remained with the US Army until his Honorable Discharge in Nov 1952.
Arnold, CA...Phyllis Jan Cosgriff left the material world on October 16, 2019. She did not want to leave and valiantly suffered severe pain and disappointments due to metastatic lung cancer and its treatment. Phyllis spent much of her young life in Pasadena and San Mateo where she lived with her mother, Gertrude Byron, father, Al Byron, and sisters, Barbara Byron (later Huebel, then Lawton) and Michelle Byron. Thereafter, she lived with her husband, Michael “Mickey” Cosgriff, in various locations, most notably Arnold. Later in life she moved to Fair Oaks due to a company transfer and stayed there for many years.

Angels Camp, CA...Jolee Peterson (Gillies), 49, peacefully passed away Thursday November 7, 2019 at Sonora Regional Hospital. Jolee was born on September 2nd, 1970, Sacramento Ca, the oldest daughter of Thomas and Doris Gillies. After graduating from Modoc High School in 1988, she went on to receive her Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Sacramento State University. Later obtaining her Masters Degree in Business Management in 2016.

Arnold, CA...It is with deep regret that the Ebbetts Pass Fire District must announce the passing of one of our Board of Directors Thomas J. Sullivan. Tom passed away on Saturday November 9, 2019 at his home in Arnold. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 PM at Ebbetts Pass Fire District Station 1, located at 1037 Blagen Road in Arnold, CA 95223.
65 Year Old West Point Man Lost His Life in Fatal Collision Off Hwy 26 on November 9.

West Point, CA...The driver was driving his vehicle eastbound on State Route 26 west of Niderost Lane, at an unknown speed. The 65 year old West Point man for an unknown reason allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway onto the north shoulder of State Route 26. He unsafely turned to the left, and the vehicle spun out of control across both lanes of traffic, before leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree. Following the impact the with a tree, the vehicle overturned and came to rest north of the roadway, on it's left side.

Murphys, CA...Rodney Hal Tindell, age 71, of Murphys, Calif. passed away surrounded by family on Thursday October 10th, 2019. Rodney was born June 28th, 1948 in Sonora, Calif., to Halbert “Bud” Tindell and Charlotte (Shelton) Tindell. He was preceded in death by his father Halbert “Bud” Tindell and younger brother, Roger Tindell. Lifelong native of Murphys, Rodney spent his early years working at the asbestos plant, followed by a career path in operating heavy machinery in the construction field and ultimately becoming self-employed to continue his passion of ‘dirt work’ on his backhoe, or plowing snow for local companies and residences.

Somerset, CA...It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce that we lost a deputy in the line of duty this morning. El Dorado County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Ishmael was shot and killed after responding to a call for service in the area of Sand Ridge Road in Somerset, Ca. A ride-along was with Deputy Ishmael during the call and was injured during the shooting. ** The ride-along, a deputy with another county, has received medical attention has been released from the hospital. **
Murphys, CA...Virginia Tremaine passed on September 30. The past Grand President of
the Native Daughters of the Golden West is survived by daughter Marsha Watkins of Las Vegas, son John Tremaine of Murphys grand daughters Kerry Watkins of San Francisco and Becky Watkins of new York.
