2009 Open Garden Days Return on Saturday February 28th

Master Gardeners welcome the public back to their Demonstration Garden on February 28, 2009. While the garden has been resting Master Gardeners have been busy preparing another series of interesting and informative events for the 2009 season. Held on the fourth Saturday of each month, starting in February and concluding in November, Open Garden Days will focus on production of high yield and continuous crops that are easy to grow in a limited space....

On Saturday, February 28th something BIG will be happening at Tuolumne County Ambulance & Fire Administration building. No, it’s not a fire drill! The Foothill Collaborative for Sustainability (FoCuS) is joining forces with Tuolumne County Master Gardeners to sponsor a Seed and Gardening Book Exchange. Anyone interested in starting a vegetable garden this Spring should attend. If you have seeds you’ve saved, extra seeds you’ve purchased and can share, or if you just want to come and pick up some seeds to start a garden and try some interesting varieties, everyone is welcome. Farm to Family Program to Feed Hungry

The Calaveras Farm to Family program is a cooperative effort to help feed the hungry of Calaveras County. Due to recent changes in the economy, Food Bank donations have fallen below demand and families who have never applied for supplemental food are signing up for help. In order to meet the increased demand and provide healthy fruits and vegetables, Calaveras County residents are asked to think about ways they can help provide food for the hungry.....
