Murphys, CA...The 31st Murphys Annual Gold Rush Street Faire will fill Main Street in Murphys, California this Saturday October 7, 2023 10 a.m. to 5 pm. Main Street in Murphys, California will temporarily become a pedestrian mall on October 7 when the Gold Rush Street Faire, a popular long-lived event, hosts over 60 artisans and crafts people selling their wares. This small-town event hits it big with shopping, music, and the iconic tri-tip pit barrel barbecue sandwiches sold by Feeney Park Volunteers to support the local community sports fields. Dao’s Delights, a local vendor specializing in fresh lemonade and Vietnamese spring rolls will supplement the culinary offerings. Local restaurants will be open during the event.

California State Parks and CAL FIRE Plan Prescribed Burn at Calaveras Big Trees State Park

Arnold, CA...California State Parks and CAL FIRE plan to conduct prescribed burning within Calaveras Big Trees State Park starting Wednesday, October 11. All burning depends on weather and air quality conditions that are favorable for smoke dispersal. If weather or vegetation conditions are not conducive for burning, the department will reschedule the treatment.

The Trailhead Ambassador position is part-time and responsible for welcoming guests and helping them get their day started right. Ambassadors can work unsupervised and outside in a winter environment. No experience is necessary, just a genuine smile and interest in helping people have a great day in the mountains.
