Arnold, CA...Hinterhaus Distilling, the 2020-founded craft distillery in the California Sierra Nevada by husband/wife owners & operators Nate & Bonnie Randall, received top honors for its wine-distilled Vodka at the American Distilling Institute’s 2021 Judging of Craft Spirits in Louisville, KY. Earning a Double Gold and Best of Category for Vodka with Residual Character, the award comes just 9 months after the distillery’s founding.

The wine was styled in a big, bold way like nobody else could do. That’s what makes us Black Sheep; we’re different from the rest of the flock. We feature small batches of limited release wines handcrafted from high quality grapes grown in Calaveras and Amador Counties. We produce about 2,500 cases of wine per year, specializing in Zinfandels and Rhone varietals.
Stanislaus National Forest Proposes Eliminating Free Day Use & Large 100% or More Fee Increases at Developed Locations

Sonora, CA...The Stanislaus National Forest is proposing to charge new or increased fees at 31 developed recreation sites to conduct deferred maintenance and make improvements to enhance visitor enjoyment (Table 1.). Numerous day-use sites, overnight camping sites, and other recreation sites are managed without user fees on the forest.
