Angels Camp, CA...The Fair is back and so is Calaveras Connect’s Shuttle Service! May 13 thru May 16, Calaveras Connect will provide free shuttle service between the Save Mart Bus Stop in Angels Camp and the Fairgrounds for the 2021 Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.

Arnold, CA...On May 1st the 2021 Cameo Plaza Summer Concert Series kicked off. The Fabulous Off Brothers a great local band played their huge play list of classic rock. No we are not completely out of the Covid woods yet but many we spoke with are looking forward to starting to "live again". With high vaccination rates especially amongst the most vulnerable populations a bit of swaying to the music might be just what the doctor ordered. At the very least it was very nice to see just a bit of normality again. The next Cameo Plaza Concert it May 22nd with Burn Permit.

Atlanta, GA...Many experts expected pregnancies to rise with more couples spending time at home. According to the latest numbers from the CDC it didn't happen. This could put a cloud on future financial models if population numbers flatten or decline. From the CDC.."The provisional number of births for the United States in 2020 was 3,605,201, down 4% from 2019. The general fertility rate was 55.8 births per 1,000 women aged 15–44, down 4% from 2019 to reach another record low for the United States. The total fertility rate was 1,637.5 births per 1,000 women in 2020, down 4% from 2019 to also reach another record low for the nation.

Art Quilt Donated to MTMC Cancer Center in Memory of Bill Mollon |

San Andreas, CA...An art quilt butterfly titled “Flourish” now hangs in the lobby at Mark Twain Medical Center’s Cancer Center to inspire patients and their loved ones. It was donated in memory of Bill Mollon by his wife Sandra, an internationally-renowned quilt artist. Their family joined her for the recent quilt presentation at the Cancer Center.
Sandra Mollon holds her handmade donated framed quilt alongside of her family members and MTMC staff.
