Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown, USA)..January 5, 2021 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee lost long time Fair Director Bob Trinchero. Bob Trinchero began his tenure with the Fair in 1999. He was appointed by Governor Gray Davis and served under Governors' Davis, Schwarzenegger, Brown, and Newsom. During the last 22 years Trinchero served as President of the Fair Board, Vice President, Chairman of Finance, Chairman of Operations, Board Liaison to the Frog Jump Committee, Theme Committee, Junior Livestock Committee and Destination Angels Camp. In 2008 he was instrumental is forming the "Friends of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee" a non-for-profit organization to work hand in hand with the Board of Directors. In 2011 Director Trinchero led the board in a reorganization that resulted in a financial and community revitalization.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! A mostly sunny day is ahead with a high of 39F and East winds in the single digits. A quick moving shortwave trough will bring a slight chance of snow shower activity later tonight and into tomorrow but the current model run shows it has a good potential to fizzle out. San Andreas, CA... Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) recently awarded three local organizations in Mountain Ranch the Dignity Heath Mark Twain Medical Center Community Grant for 2020, totaling over $32,000 towards their partnership in ‘The greater access initiative’.

USFS Extends Developed Campground Closure on Stanislaus and Other National Forests

Sonora, CA... USDA Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Region, extended the developed campground closure on 12 National Forests in California, including the Stanislaus National Forest, to provide consistent COVID-19 mitigation response in accordance with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Stay-at-Home Orders. These regional orders will be in effect through Jan. 29, 2021.
