West Point, CA...Let's Celebrate! Join Us! The street parade is a traditional part of American life and West Point is proud to present a fun-filled day for the entire family! Lumberjack Day features a home-cooked breakfast, craft fair, logger's contest, car show, soap-box derby, youth activities, barbecue lunch, the crowning of Mr. & Miss Lumberjack (our King and Queen), live music, a horseshoe tournament and a grand parade sanctioned by the California State Horsemen's Association.

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center will hold its 23rd Annual Fall Health and Community Resources Fair Saturday, September 30, 7am - Noon at the Hospital Campus. A wealth of information will be available on senior support and health services, health insurance information, long term and short term care. Also participating are experts in chronic disease management, mental health, nutrition and personal well-being. Low cost health screening and services include the five-panel blood analysis, including chemistry panel, thyroid, complete blood count, lipid panel, iron for women, PSA for men, and vitamin D deficiencies for $45. Those participating in the blood analysis should fast after 10PM the night before. Flu shots will be offered at no cost.
