Potential for Targeted PSPS Event in Nine Counties: PG&E May Need to Proactively Turn Off Power for Safety to Approximately 21,000 Customers Monday Night

San Andreas, CA...An estimated 21,000 customers in Calaveras, Fresno, Kern, Madera, Mariposa, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Tulare and Tuolumne counties who might be affected by the Public Safety Power Shutoff are receiving the initial notifications today, two days ahead of the potential event.  Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has notified a targeted number of customers in small portions of Calaveras, Fresno, Kern, Madera, Mariposa, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Tulare and Tuolumne counties about a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Monday night. Dry conditions combined with high wind gusts pose an increased risk for damage to the electric system that could ignite fires in areas with dry vegetation.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Another evening of inversion type conditions has lead to the current temp at 5am being 44F!!!! he Polar Vortex and Strato warming has sure put some warmth into the forecast for the next week. 48F is the projected high today with Friday looking to be 51F. Surface gradients have relaxed so lite winds are expected to show face through the weekend then some breezy conditions as the trough moves onshore and gradients tighten back up. Things are looking more positive for a weather change near the end of the 3rd week of January. Snow will return……Until then, get out and ski/ride and enjoy the Pure Mtn Fun ethos! Stay tuned……..

Arnold, CA....We had the few pleasure to spend a few minutes yesterday with Arnold resident Dave Wagner before he headed up for his last local practice session before he heads up to Alaska to get ready for the 2,645 mile 2021 Iron Dog.  In his first start last year his team even lead the race for awhile before one of their snow machines burned to the ground.  Back this year for round two he and his team seek to learn and build on last year's experience.  The latest updates and history of the Iron Dog is below...

Angels Camp, CA...Well, now that the holidays are over, the ornaments have been carefully wrapped and boxed up, the tree is in its festive bag or in the green recycle bin, the confetti cleaned off the floors and furniture and the horns and hats tucked into a sack, we have almost put it behind us until we open the frig and see the eggnog staring us in the face! By now we are all sick of drinking this holiday concoction, yet we don’t want to throw it out. So, let’s get creative and put those culinary juices to work. Breakfast foods come into my mind first, but this year I have thought of an idea for a tasty lunch as well. Here are a couple of easy delicious recipes to use up your eggnog.
