Murphys, CA...A Community Resiliency Center has been established at the Murphys Fire District Training Center located at 58 Jones street Murphys (across from the fire station). We have power and water available for those in need.

Arnold, CA...When we stopped for gas in Angels Camp a guy got out of his vehicle and asked if there was a "Zombie Apocalypse" here? He hadn't heard about the planned power outages and was coming to our area to camp for the weekend. All he saw were people frantically foraging for supplies ahead of the power outage and impending doom. Now that the outage is underway and the hum of generators is filling the air it has taken on a bit of a surreal feel. The PG&E Hospitality tent in the Meadowmont Shopping Center looks straight from a movie set. It even has a security guard scanning the refugees who have so far survived for a little over an hour off the grid. One was even heard shrieking "Quick, my battery is at 20%"
The orange and red locations on the map above indicate a lack of electron flow..

Murphys, CA...The 2019 Ironstone Concours d' Elegance Best of Show is Paul Petrovich's 1930 Duesenberg J, Murphy Convertible Roadster. On September 28th the manicured grounds of Ironstone Vineyards & Winery Complex played host to the event it was designed for over two decades ago. The Cars, Trucks, RVs, Motorcycles, Vintage Race Cars, Amphicars, Playboy Playmates & Pink AMCs & our favorite a 427 Shelby Cobra filled the lawns. I shudder to think of the total value of all the rolling art but there were a few examples easily into the 7 and 8 figure ranges. Some of the vehicles in the field were basically rolling Rembrandts or Picassos except these art pieces roll and drive. This is our favorite weekend of the year in our area. The history, elegance & beautiful Ironstone Winery setting make this a special event. We have full video of the awards ceremony, photos of every class winner on stage and at least one photo of every entrant that was on the lawn when we made our passes. San Francisco, CA...Based on current forecasted weather conditions, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) anticipates that it may begin implementing a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) to more than 600,000 customers across portions of nearly 30 northern, central, coastal and Bay Area counties. This would be a precautionary measure to reduce the risk of wildfire in these communities.

Murphys, CA...Black Sheep Winery arrived in Murphys with the 1984 harvest. From that first harvest we produced our 1984 Amador Zinfandel. The wine was styled in a big, bold way like nobody else could do. That's what makes us Black Sheep; we're different from the rest of the flock. We feature small batches of limited release wines handcrafted from high quality grapes grown in Calaveras and Amador Counties. We produce about 2,500 cases of wine per year, specializing in Zinfandels and Rhone varietals.
