The goal of the Gold Rush Writers Conference is to provide creative writers of all levels a chance to learn from established professionals through workshops, lectures, panels and readings. Limited to 80 participants, the conference prides itself on its intimacy and charm.

Bear Valley, CA...The Slush Cup is a fun race for the entire Bear Valley Ski community. It is a fund raiser for Bear Valley SnowSports Foundation whose purpose is to support the Bear Valley Team programs and athletes along with supporting the Adaptive Program by providing equipment and coach/instructor training. The Slush Cup is a dual course elimination event. It is open to alpine skiers, telemark skiers and snowboarders. In addition to those categories there are age and gender categories that include:

Murphys, CA, June 2nd 9am – The first annual “Run Like Goose” 5K Run/Walk fundraiser for Grief and Trauma Recovery will be benefiting local Tavius Aiton’s nonprofit Live Like Goose in honor of his son “Goose.” About the event: The 5K Run/Walk starting at Murphy’s Park on Algiers Road in Murphy’s, CA. The run will go out six mile road towards Ironstone Vineyards and back to Murphys Park. The scenic course has some rolling hills and is a fun run or walk.

San Andreas, CA...The month of April is dedicated to honoring all the volunteers in a community and encouraging volunteerism overall. Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation honored the Mark Twain Hospital volunteers during an appreciation lunch on April 9th. With the theme “Volunteers Bowl Us Over” the event highlighted their many hours spent spreading kindness throughout the hospital and family medical centers. This year the hospital volunteers were recognized for a combined 82,100 hours of volunteering.
