Angels Camp, CA...The Mark Twain Wildwest Fest will close Hwy 49 through Historic Downtown Angels Camp on Saturday, October 19th, 2019. Hwy 49 will be closed from 8am to 6pm for all the fun in Historic Downtown Angels Camp. The Closure will be Hwy 49 at Sam’s Way (Utica Park) to Vallecito Road. Main Street OPEN to local traffic to Utica Park. Southbound detour will be Eastbound Highway 4 Bypass to Vallecito Road exit. Then Travel west on Vallecito Road to Highway 49/Main Street and vice versa.

San Andreas, CA...Frank deMoss started the Calaveras Cancer Support Group in 1992 while in the midst of his battle with prostate cancer. Today, it continues as a force for good – raising community awareness and helping those facing the challenge of a cancer diagnosis. It’s most recent project is assisting with hospitality for the Oct. 24 Steps to Kick Cancer awareness event presented by Mark Twain Medical Center. The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are required; call 754-5919 now.

NASA Debuts New Spacesuits! Orion Suit Equipped to Expect the Unexpected on Artemis Missions

Houston, TX...When astronauts are hours away from launching on Artemis missions to the Moon, they’ll put on a brightly colored orange spacesuit called the Orion Crew Survival System (OCSS) suit. It is designed for a custom fit and equipped with safety technology and mobility features to help protect astronauts on launch day, in emergency situations, high-risk parts of missions near the Moon, and during the high-speed return to Earth.
