San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) recently honored fourteen nurses that were nominated for The DAISY® Award. This award is for Extraordinary Nurses. All of the nominations were submitted by patients recognizing the super-human efforts Nurses perform every day from the November 2021 through April 2022 time period.

Columbia, CA...Columbia State Historic Park will present “Diggins Tent Town 1852”, a special living history event that recreates a 1852 tent town from the California Gold Rush from May 19 through May 21, 2022. Supporting this event will be over 150 costumed volunteers assisting park visitors as they experience the 1852 mining camp that is re-created in detail with period-accurate clothing, buildings, food and entertainment.

Angels Camp, CA...Crowning events on Thursday leap the Fair into action. Headlining the night was the crowing of the 2022 Miss Calaveras. Paytin Curran, who is also valedictorian at Calaveras High School. First runner-up was Jillian Nord. The second runner-up was Brooklyn Galligan. Morgan Fautt roped in 2022 Saddle Queen honors and first runner-up was Krysten Bradford. Full Pageant video and photos of the event are below. We have photos and video of many previous Miss Calaveras Pageants in our archives as well.
