Bear Valley, CA: March will definitely come in like a lion when the Nickolay Dodov Foundation (NDF) and Bear Valley Mountain (BVM) hosts the 2nd Annual Nickolay Dodov Slopestyle, March 8, 2014 at 11:00am. The event features a fantastic slopestyle course to challenge the best freestyle skiers and snowboarders in the Sierras competing for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. The event is open to the public and will offer Men’s and Women’s categories for riders 18 and over; 17 and under; and a “Little Grom” (12 & under) division in both disciplines. Entry fee for this event is $20.00 and includes a competitor gift bag for all entrants. California Family Discovers Buried Treasure – Hidden Cache of 19th Century U.S. Gold Coins May Be Most Valuable Hoard Unearthed in North America |

San Francisco, CA...Rare coin experts, Kagin’s Inc., today announced that a treasure of over 1400 rare U.S. gold coins has been discovered buried on private property in California’s gold region. The treasure was found by a couple on their property while taking their dog on its daily walk. It is believed to be the greatest buried treasure ever unearthed in the United States, with an estimated value in excess of $10 Million. “What’s really significant about this find,” noted Donald Kagin Ph.D., president of Kagin’s Inc. of Tiburon, California, “is that unlike other hoards and treasures, this one includes a great variety of dates, many of which are in pristine condition; add to that a wonderful human interest story: this family literally found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.”

Sonora, CA...Sonora Regional Medical Center’s 18th Annual Golf Classic will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis. All proceeds from the tournament go toward funding Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Project HOPE, a free mobile health clinic serving people in the community who typically do not have health insurance. John Hickenlooper today released a proposed spending plan for revenues collected as a result of Proposition AA, which voters approved last fall to establish excise and sales taxes on adult-use marijuana. The spending plan calls for $4.5 million in FY 2013-14 and $99 million in FY 2014-15....
